Product Drop July 2024
Hello old friends!
I fully intended to do a bug spray* sale in the early spring, but then time got away from me and here we are. I know we are all well into BUG SEASON, but I figured better late than never. The web shop will be until end of day Monday, July 22nd. I will make and ship the bug sprays ASAP, with the goal of having everything shipped by the end of the month. I do have a small quantity already made, so the first orders will get yours the soonest. No pressure :)
This year has been a process of figuring out the seasonal rhythms of when to open the shop since I’m a business of one now. I should have known once growing season (mid-April) started, I wouldn’t be able to come up for air for a while, so that has been noted for future. My goal is to be able open the shop consistently in the early spring and late fall, so I will shoot for that in 2025. And I am going to try to open the shop one more time before the end of the year
In the meantime, I’ve been a gardening fool and I’m growing all sorts of herbs with the intention of turning them into remedies to offer to you fine folks. I have lemon balm and catnip drying for bug sprays, some yarrow infusing in olive oil for a salve I’ve had in mind and I’ve also been able to get back to distilling, so there are a couple wonderful hydrosols in my offerings this month. These hydrosols have become daily personal care items that I also heavily rely on as remedies for various skin issues. If you’re not familiar, I would love for you to click and learn a little more about them. They have so many different uses that I don’t really use a ton of other products in my skincare regimen.
In other news, there’s been lots happening behind the scenes. I had hired a company and started the process of having a beautiful new website designed before I made the decision to close the business in 2022, so that project got parked. I recently got it going again and not only will it house the limited Mama Apothecary product line that I still plan to offer, but it will also serve as the home to a passion project that I’ve been slowly working on for the last few years. I’m hoping this will all be ready to share in the fall.
Also, I've officially decided to transition the name of the business to Mama Apothecary, as I think that's more representative of the products and content I'll be offering moving forward. Since I'm not in touch as often these days, I'm going to do this slowly so y'all won't forget it's me!
Last but not least, I have finally figured out how I want to send off Mama Bath and Body (RIP) and I think what I’ve come up with will make lots of folks happy. But it’s going to take some more planning before I’m ready to share. So stay tuned…
