Mama® artisan soap is hand-crafted with olive, coconut and palm oils, using the cold process method of soap making. Our bars have an outstanding lather and leave your skin feeling soft and silky. Unlike commercial brands, our soap retains its glycerin, which makes for a naturally moisturizing soap.

Our new Rosemary Shampoo Bar (with cocoa butter) is a 100% natural bar soap alternative to commercial liquid shampoos that are full of chemicals. Our shampoo bars are easy to use - just lather in your hands and apply like a regular shampoo. Formulated for normal hair but great for all hair types.
Our Rosemary Shampoo Bar recipe is a power packed combo of restorative and ultra conditioning Cocoa Butter, moisturizing Castor Oil, Sweet Almond Oil and Sunflower Oil and hydrating Avocado Oil. It's scented with rosemary essential oil providing an energizing and reviving experience. We also added a bit of ground rosemary, as rosemary is known to increase blood flow to the skin, encouraging hair growth.
Our shampoo bars are safe for color treated hair! Since we only use natural oils in our products, there aren’t any chemicals or ingredients that will strip your color.
We cut each bar a chunky 5 oz, and cure it for 3 weeks. The finished bars look splendidly natural, like the ingredients that they are made of.

Ingredients: Saponified oils of coconut, sunflower, sweet almond, avocado, organic palm, cocoa butter, castor, rosemary essential oil and ground rosemary.
Product tip: For best use, we recommend cutting the bar into thirds before using.Note: If you've been using commercial shampoos, it may take a little time for your hair to adjust to your new, natural regimen. Here are some tips for how to make the switch:
1. Lather bar in your hands and apply like a liquid shampoo. You may have to repeat this step a few times to achieve the ideal amount of lather. Massage well into scalp and work through hair to the ends and then rinse well. (Mama's note: we do not use synthetic lathering ingredients, so you may not end up with as much lather as you're used to. Don't worry, because a smaller amount of lather still gets your hair nice and clean!)
2. After your first shampoo, rinse with apple cider vinegar. Just mix 1 to 2 tbsp of ACV with 8 oz of water and apply to your hair, massaging in like shampoo. Leave it in for a few minutes and rinse well. The smell of vinegar will fade completely.
3. Allow at least a week for your hair to adjust. Sometimes it takes a few washes to completely rid your hair of commercial shampoo build up.

Don’t be afraid if it takes time
It’s definately taken my hair months to adjust since I was coming straight from commercial products, but following they recommendation of using the shampoo with Apple Cider Vinegar rinses I’m hooked. I panicked early on thinking it wasn’t working and my hair would always be a greasy ball without chemicals. Thankfully, a lot of very messy buns later my hair is healthy and stronger than it has ever been. I’m stoked to try other products. Thank you! Sam on Oct 5th 2018

Great for curly hair!
I have very thick curly hair and this shampoo bar is awesome! I'm working on growing my hair out, and it turns out that rosemary essential oil is great for just that!
I will admit that it took some time to get used to the way the shampoo bar feels in comparison to "normal" shampoo, but after some time, my hair adjusted! Unknown on Aug 22nd 2018 -
I wanted to love it...
I so wanted to love this shampoo bar. I love Mama products, I have been wanting to try a shampoo bar for a while--I am trying to reduce my carbon footprint and use more natural ingredients, and this bar fits the bill. I know that it takes a while to adjust to shampoo bars, but this simply did not work for my hair. I don't know how my hair can, at the same time, feel like I work on an oil rig without washing my hair, and also be dry and crunchy. It also made my scalp flaky. I even used the vinegar rinse. Maybe I just needed to give my hair more time to adjust, but I cannot sequester myself that long. It smells great, lathered up fine, even in my hard water, and I will use it as body soap, but this is just not for me. Sheri C. on Aug 20th 2018

Lathers well and keeps scalp moisturized
This product is fantastic if you have sensitive or dry scalp, at least for me. It lathers well and by cutting the bars into thirds it lasts forever thus saving money compared to other specialty shampoos. Smells great as a bonus! The lavender one is equally amazing. Lyndee on Aug 10th 2018

Great Product-NO MORE NEED FOR CONDITIONER
I have been using this product for a few months now, and it is phenomenal!! I don't need to use any conditioner anymore like I used to. It leaves my hair so soft and beautiful. I love this shampoo bar!
LIFE CHANGING. TRULY. I use it on my cat (YES, my CAT). She can't groom herself properly, so the vet recommended baths. She and I both LOVE this shampoo bar! She smells great, and this bar makes her (long hair) fur so fluffy and full! Ally on Oct 10th 2017
